Weekly Update- Victory or Death?

Friends and fellow gamers, I apologize for the tardiness of the past weeks Weekly Updates.  Wednesday was proving a difficult day for me to find time to post.  Furthermore, I am starting a new job next week and won't be sure about my schedule for a few weeks after that.  So the Weekly Updates will, until further notice, be posted on a whenever-is-convineint time frame.  Now lets dive in, shall we?

THROWDOWNS AND THE LADDER
There has yet to be a Throwdown for placement on the ladder.  I have bittersweet emotions on this topic because I enjoy being the top team, but I can hardly call myself a champion when my team is the only active one.  I would like to remind those of you who are wanting to participate that the earlier you Throwdown, the less rungs you will have to climb to get to the top of the ladder.  Also, just a reminder that all the Ladder information can be found under the LEAGUES tab.  I am working on getting that edited to have specific links for Throwdowns and The Ladder.

CLOSE QUARTERS 2
For those of you who have been wondering when I was going to announce the date for Close Quarters 2, Im sorry but you are going to have to wait a bit longer.  I have been debating with myself about whether or not it should be held online instead of at a specific location.  There is a large portion of L33t Str33t that wouldn't get the chance to participate if it wasn't held online.  I am beginning to lean to the online option, but want some feedback from you.  If you have something to say concerning this issue, head to the Facebook page and leave me a nice comment on the wall.  I will assure you now that if it is held online we will hammer out every detail, and it will be an awesome experience.

INSPIRATION
Red vs Blue.  It gets me every time.

FACEPALM OF THE WEEK
I think a few people will understand who is targeted when I say.....  Ho's.  We may love you, but that doesn't change what you are.  So we unwillingly accept you for who you are, duck our heads, and introduce the palms of our hands to the backs of our skulls.
Keep it clean...

And that wraps up another Weekly Update.

Humpday Update- A Monument to all Your Sins

Friends and fellow gamers, as I said on the Facebook page I have a message that I hope will ring true to you.  And without further ado, I'm going to jump right into it.

A Monument to All Your Sins
Last week my mother openly accused me of being addicted to video games.  Being a gamer, I felt betrayed and offended.  So naturally I delved into the chasm of deep thought in my mind and stewed over that statement.  Am I in fact addicted to video games?  My answer remained a steadfast no, and here are my reasons.  When addicted, the person will abandon the things that are essential in life.  Such as work, social interaction, and personal hygiene.  I have adhered to these things in my life, and have only gamed where I have found time.  Also, a person addicted to video games is susceptible to bouts of anger and rage during play.  I am very capable of keeping my calm.  And lastly, a person addicted to video games is hell bent of becoming the best of the best, degrading the players around him/her, and letting everyone know about how awesome they are.  I strive to be a better player, but I am not consumed by that drive.  And I hardly ever openly degrade those who I game with (no one can resist a good tea-bag session).

Now you are probably wondering what this has to do with L33t Str33t.  Well, here is my explanation for that.  I envisioned L33t Str33t as a common ground for gamers like myself, who like to game for recreation with a competitive edge.  A place for those who are tired of monotonously gaming alone.  I have seen L33t Str33t grow in numbers, and that is awesome on all accounts.  But what is more awesome than that is the relationships I have seen form between gamers.  I think that we can all agree when I say the network of L33t Str33t grows closer and broader every week.  From here, all I wish for is for members to talk about L33t Str33t and invite other friends to join us in gaming.  If gaming is a sin, let L33t Str33t become our monument.  And let us build it ever higher.

That's going to wrap up this weeks Humpday Update.  I will post another Facepalm and Inspiration next week.

The Humpday Update- Ascending the Ladder

Friends and fellow gamers, this is a very exciting week for us at L33t Str33t.  Not only did we launch our totally awesome Throwdown Ladder, but tomorrow happens to be Bungie Day!  Starting at midnight tonight Bungie will open the Steaktacular playlist and face off against any and all fans for 24 hours.  Team Fallen Saints has been honing our Team Slayer skills, especially where Steaktaculars are concerned, in preparation for this momentous occasion.  How I would love to sink my teeth into a steak provided by the makers of the most glorious game created, but I would also be content with a victory or two against a squad of Bungie employees.

BUNGIE DAY
As the leader of L33t Str33t, I challenge you all to try your hand against Bungie.  Not in hopes of destroying them, tea-bagging their lifeless corpses, and talking major smack.  No, play them as a thank you for their contribution to the world and providing us with a game that has enriched our existence.  Also note that tomorrow will be the last day that you can activate the Blue Flames.  If you want your Spartan to burn with the eternal blue flame of Bungie, tomorrow is your last chance to be ignited and dubbed a Knight of Bungie.

THROWDOWNS
The L33t Str33t Ladder was launched yesterday, and we are very excited about the potential it has.  Currently we, Team Fallen Saints, hold the 1st position.  If you think you have the team that can climb the ladder and seize all the glory, then by all means challenge us.  We dare you....  Obviously the earlier your team joins, the less ladder you have to climb.  So sign up now and earn you keep!

WEEKLY INSPIRATION
This is a follow up of last week's inspiration..  The asdf movie 2

FACEPALM OF THE WEEK
In honor of July 4th and the birthday of America, I would like to just say 'I love America'.  And to those of you that don't... (excluding our international readers)
Need I say more?

That wraps up another Humpday Update.

L33t Str33t Throwdowns- Become the Champions

Friends and fellow gamers, its at this time that I would like to announce a project I have been working on for a while.  It is more or less a variant of the L33t Halo League; L33t Str33t Throwdowns  These Throwdowns will be played by teams within the community and will be based on a simple ladder system.  Shall I go into more detail?  I think I shall....

    THE LADDER
It's a simple process.  Teams compete against each other to climb to the top of the ladder.  Obviously the top team will have unmatched bragging rights within the L33t Str33t Community.  To dethrone the current leaders a team must battle through to the 2nd place position and challenge the defending champions.  Teams at the bottom of the ladder may skip one team when challenging.  Once a team reaches 5th position they must challenge the teams directly above them.  Example: 8th position can challenge 7th and 6th positions, 6th can challenge 5th and 4th positions, but 5th position can only challenge 4th position.  If a team in the top 4 positions loses a challenge they automatically drop to 5th position, and the previous holder of 5th position will move to 4th position.  Challenges that occur below the top 4 teams will result in a single position drop.

    ASSEMBLING A TEAM
Each team must be comprised of 4-5 players, all with an Xbox Live account.  Once a team has been carefully chosen, the team captain will email or message me via Xbox Live the following information:

    TEAM NAME:
    TEAM CAPTAIN:
    TEAM MEMBERS:

(email: leetstreetmedia@gmail.com.  Xbox Live message to GT: SaintAffliction)

    CHALLENGE PROCESS
To challenge a team, the challenging team captain must issue a challenge to the opposing team captain.  The teams then agree on a day and time for their Throwdown.  The teams will then each choose a game type and map.  NOTE: GAME TYPES MUST BE SAVED FROM REACH MATCHMAKING TO BE VALID.  The third game type and map will be posted Mondays on the L33t Str33t Media facebook page.  The victorious team will then report the Throwdown by sending me the URLs to the carnage reports (located in the Game History portion of the Service Record on Bungie.net).  The URLs need to be sent to leetstreetmedia@gmail.com.

If there are disputes from a match or questions about a turn out, all questions can be directed to me at leetstreetmedia@gmail.com.

    SQUAD BATTLES
Teams that have 5 players will be eligible for squad battles.  Once the ladder is posted teams who have full squads will be labeled as such.  If a team with a full squad challenges a team who only has 4 team members, the squad must compete with only 4 players.  If 2 squads are set to challenge, it is fair to go either 4v4, or 5v5.  Remember, the appropriate game types must be downloaded from Reach Matchmaking to be valid.

    VALID PLAYLISTS
Game types and maps can be chosen from any of the following playlists:

    • Team Slayer
    • Team Objective
    • Team Snipers
    • SWAT
    • Squad Slayer

The Humpday Update- Power in Numbers

Friends and fellow gamers, this week I come to you with a challenge.  In the past weeks the L33t Str33t Community has grown exponentially, and not only has it grown in numbers but it has grown in unity.  I have seen friendships form and the foundations of a unified community laid.

    THE CHALLENGE
My challenge to you is simply this: Spread the word to everyone you know.  The days of gaming alone or with a select few people are nearing their end.  From my short time running L33t Str33t, I have gone from having a single Team Slayer based team to having multiple teams for various gametypes.  I enjoy playing with everyone who I game with, be it casually or competitively.

I would like to extend a specific thank you to JiuJitsuCutie, NizzleThizzle, Tiger Claw 102, and Darky11126 for embracing my vision of L33t Str33t and bringing more gamers into the community.  Now it falls to the rest of you to spread the word and work to those who haven't heard about us.

    GAME NIGHT
Last weeks Game Night was full of new faces and new game types for our rambunctious shenanigans.  I hope you all enjoyed the first Game Night Recap video, and the second will be posted next month.  As always, the more the merrier, and when we get more people we will start splitting into groups depending on what people want to play.  This has turned into a weekly highlight for me, and I'm sure a few of you enjoy it just as much.

    L33t HALO LEAGUE
Due to lack of numbers, the L33t Halo League has been put on hold.  Until we can establish a solid team foundation, I have thought up an alternative.  We will do pre-planned team skirmishes that will be featured on the website.  This week Team Fallen Saints will be throwing down with team Toast Mortem.  Im still brainstorming on a system for these skirmishes, but for now if you are interested in playing shoot me an email or a message via Xbox Live.

    WEEKLY INSPIRATION
This weeks inspirations is somewhat reminiscent of Game Night.  Short bursts of randomness with a vague end goal.  Enjoy.

    FACEPALM OF THE WEEK
You guys want to hear a joke?!  Women driving!!........  No seriously.  When a woman comes to my house, parks her car, and doesn't realize she is halfway parked on the grass... That kind of screams the truth of the age old stereotype.  Here is to you, soccer moms, diva moms, teenie boppers, and cell phone addicts.  As you take the wheel in one hand and whatever you deem more important than the lives of those around you in the other, we heave a great sigh and smash our palms through our foreheads.
"But... But officer, it wasn't my fault!"

That wraps up another Humpday Update
