Friends and fellow gamers, its at this time that I would like to announce a project I have been working on for a while. It is more or less a variant of the L33t Halo League; L33t Str33t Throwdowns These Throwdowns will be played by teams within the community and will be based on a simple ladder system. Shall I go into more detail? I think I shall....
THE LADDER It's a simple process. Teams compete against each other to climb to the top of the ladder. Obviously the top team will have unmatched bragging rights within the L33t Str33t Community. To dethrone the current leaders a team must battle through to the 2nd place position and challenge the defending champions. Teams at the bottom of the ladder may skip one team when challenging. Once a team reaches 5th position they must challenge the teams directly above them. Example: 8th position can challenge 7th and 6th positions, 6th can challenge 5th and 4th positions, but 5th position can only challenge 4th position. If a team in the top 4 positions loses a challenge they automatically drop to 5th position, and the previous holder of 5th position will move to 4th position. Challenges that occur below the top 4 teams will result in a single position drop.
ASSEMBLING A TEAM Each team must be comprised of 4-5 players, all with an Xbox Live account. Once a team has been carefully chosen, the team captain will email or message me via Xbox Live the following information:
TEAM NAME: TEAM CAPTAIN: TEAM MEMBERS:
(email: leetstreetmedia@gmail.com. Xbox Live message to GT: SaintAffliction)
CHALLENGE PROCESS To challenge a team, the challenging team captain must issue a challenge to the opposing team captain. The teams then agree on a day and time for their Throwdown. The teams will then each choose a game type and map. NOTE: GAME TYPES MUST BE SAVED FROM REACH MATCHMAKING TO BE VALID. The third game type and map will be posted Mondays on the L33t Str33t Media facebook page. The victorious team will then report the Throwdown by sending me the URLs to the carnage reports (located in the Game History portion of the Service Record on Bungie.net). The URLs need to be sent to leetstreetmedia@gmail.com.
If there are disputes from a match or questions about a turn out, all questions can be directed to me at leetstreetmedia@gmail.com.
SQUAD BATTLES Teams that have 5 players will be eligible for squad battles. Once the ladder is posted teams who have full squads will be labeled as such. If a team with a full squad challenges a team who only has 4 team members, the squad must compete with only 4 players. If 2 squads are set to challenge, it is fair to go either 4v4, or 5v5. Remember, the appropriate game types must be downloaded from Reach Matchmaking to be valid.
VALID PLAYLISTS Game types and maps can be chosen from any of the following playlists:
Alright everyone, you have from now until Saturday at 11:59 PM to submit your registration email for the L33t Halo League. We have had a lot of activity and new people at Game Night, which is awesome. But the leagues and tournaments are what we at L33t Str33t are about. Game Night is more of a way for us to release our inner 2 year olds and dick around for a few hours.
HOW TO REGISTER
To register simply click the envelope icon at the top of the screen. It will take you to an email window where you just have to enter the following information:
Subject: L33t Halo League Registration Team Name: Team Captain Gamertag: Team Gamertags: 1 2 3 Substitute Gamertag (optional): Gametype: Map:
I will then contact you and let you know if your chosen gametype and map are approved. After that I will organize a schedule and grant you the gift of carnage for you to do with as you please.
PROCESS
Games will take place once a week. You will be provided with a schedule with information about the other team so that you can scout, prepare, and practice accordingly. Each game will consist of the home team's (determined by who comes first on the schedule) chosen gametype and map and the weekly gametype and map chosen by me. Home team will be in charge of reporting the games by emailing me the carnage report URL's. The match report should look as shown:
Game 1 Winning Team: Losing Team: URL: Game 2 Winning Team: Losing Team: URL:
IN CLOSING
We have seen a slow but steady growth in the community in the past little while. My hope is that those of you that are planning on participating in the league reach out to those who have not yet discovered L33t Str33t and recruit them to your team. This way they can see what we are all about, enjoy our gaming community with us, and share in the glorious combat of champions.
And just for kicks and giggles, here is the trailer again.
Friends and fellow gamers, after the phenomenal success of Close Quarters I can only push for more awe inspiring gameplay. Now is time for me to present the original idea that inspired the creation of L33t Str33t. The idea that two bored college students brewed up in a dorm room. The visionary idea of creating a friendly, cooperative, yet competitive community of gameplay. After months of waiting, stewing, and brooding, we are ready. The L33t Halo League!
RULES Much similar to Close Quarters, the only rule is be courteous. Sportsmanship is the goal here, and unifying the community wont happen with teams who disrespect one another. However, there will be no admins to watch over the matches. I am putting my unfaltering trust in you to make the right choices.
REQUIREMENTS Aside from the basic Xbox, Halo: Reach, TV, ect. Here is a list of what is required.
Xbox Live Gold Membership
Bugie.net account
A team of 4 with an optional substitute player.
All team members must have a Xbox Live account in order to be eligible to play.
PROCESS There will be one game for every team a week. It is up to team captains to communicate and decide on a day and time for this to take place. Each game will consist of 2 actual games; the home teams selected gametype and map (that must be approved by me first), and the weekly gametype and map that I will post. Home team is determined by whatever team comes first on the schedule. Example: Home team vs Away Team. Pretty easy. Home team will be responsible for reporting the matches via email. This will be done by going to your Bungie.net account, Game History, Custom Games and finding the appropriate Carnage Reports. You then copy and paste the URL into the email, stating what colors the teams were. A Carnage Report should look as follows:
Subject: Carnage Report Week (x)
Game 1 Winning Team: Losing Team: URL:
Game 2 Winning Team: Losing Team: URL:
I will continually update stats and progress of the teams so everyone can see how the other teams are doing. At the end of the season there will be a bracket and playoffs, however, that is still in the brainstorming stage.
REGISTRATION Teams must send in an email to leetstreetmedia@gmail.com with the following info:
Subject: L33t Halo League Registration
Team Name: Team Captain Gamertag: Team Gamertags: 1 2 3 Substitute Gamertag (optional): Gametype: Map:
After I receive your email I will place your team in a division. Depending on how many teams we have sign up will determine the number of divisions we have, and how big our play offs bracket will be.
REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE JUNE 24TH!
If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to ask. E-mail or facebook me and I will get back to you in a reasonable amount of time.
